Chef Laurent Cambon spent 25 years as Head Chef at Machiavelli's — one of Sydney's most celebrated Italian institutions — before bringing every bit of that mastery to Leura. No shortcuts, no compromises. Just food made the traditional way, with ingredients chosen with intent.
The Leopard lives inside the historic Leura Railway Garage — a building that's been part of this town for over a century. High ceilings, old bones, and a room that feels both alive and settled. There's a reason locals don't just eat here — they linger. The space invites it.

Lovely place to have lunch. We had the focaccia with chicken schnitzel and also porchetta. Had a few cheeky beignets with our coffee after- sooo good! Service was excellent, friendly and efficient. Great atmosphere with excellent ambiance. Toilets clean and seating comfortable inside and out. Very reasonable prices and excellent coffee. Will definitely return.
Absolutely loved dining here for dinner on a rainy Thursday evening. We sat inside and the atmosphere was cosy and warm, The service was attentive and welcoming, and the food was so delicious! The bosciola was perfect (and I’ve tried too many!), lasagna had a beautiful home made sauce, which paired perfectly with their great wine list… Such a lovely new addition to Leura. We’re so grateful to have a new place like this in the mountains and can’t wait to make it our regular. Thank you for opening! ☺️
Great spot with really good, affordable coffee. We tried both focaccias, the meatball and the schnitzel, and they were absolutely delicious. Would definitely come back again!
Dropped in for the much talked about focaccia sandwiches 🥪. The meatball one was a stand out. A simple choccy milkshake hit the spot. Great service and the soups looked yum.
I went to the Harvest Festival a couple of weeks ago and stumbled upon this absolute gem! It’s such a cozy, welcoming spot. The salad was incredibly fresh, and the staff were so lovely and attentive. The whole experience felt like an incredible journey from start to finish. If you’re looking for amazing food and a wonderful atmosphere, this is it. I had a great experience and will definitely be back!
Had dinner here in April 2026 and the food and service were great. 2 of us had the beef bourguignon, I had the ragu and one had the Arrabbiata. The meals were very good although perhaps a bit expensive. Still worth it though. Would eat there again.
Great to See a new, Fresh and exciting food destination in Leura. Melissa has got the eye for style and the food is delicious And so fresh. Such an iconic venue, Very pleasing to see this space reopened in such a delightful way
What a fabulous time we had at Leopard tonight. Food was amazing. They catered for vegan options and presented the dishes beautifully. The staff were both efficient and friendly. A great new venue in Leura
What a great variety on the menu. They cater for vegan and gluten free, probably more I just didn’t really look. The gluten free bread was actually palatable and nice. Service was polite and extremely efficient. Servings were perfect size. Well stacked but not that much that you leave any. So a bonus of no wasted food. You can bring your fur babies as there is plenty of seating outside with fresh bowls of water for them. Our server Jess was spot on with everything. Great new place to eat in Leura.
